Joe Murphy at PR Forum

If you are going to ALA National Conference, don’t forget to check out PR Forum on June 26th from 8-10 a.m. This year’s featured speaker will be Joe Murphy, librarian at Yale University and mobile technology innovator. Murphy will “discuss how mobile phones provide a unique opportunity for libraries to market themselves.”

Murphy has focused his professional work on technology trends and the evolving information landscape. Murphy helps libraries and publishers identify, understand and adapt to trends in technology and information engagement as a regular professional speaker and through his Twitter account, @libraryfuture, and his blog, joemurphylibraryfuture.com.

Stephen Abram at the PR Forum

From the ALA Membership Blog, this year’s PR Forum “featured Stephen Abram, a leading international librarian. He shares his ideas on the role of social networking in library marketing and communications. The event is an annual program coordinated by the ALA PR Assembly, a subcommittee of the Public Awareness Committee.”
